Eagle Landing, a resort-style community located in Orange Park, Florida, opened in 2005 with a visually engaging website as part of the marketing initiative. But, several years later that website was in need of a redesign. Not only a visual redesign, but also in need of an overhaul to the underlying web technology. As such, I was commissioned to redesign the Eagle Landing website and update the website software to bring the site features, functionality, and code up to present day standards.
The Eagle Landing project was part of a company wide redesign plan within East West Communities, the parent company of Eagle Landing. The intent of the overall project was to bring up to date the various East West community websites with current web software features that enrich the user experience, deploy a unified framework for all the websites for easier website management and administration, and to re-focus the visual design of the websites to turn prospective clients into East West Community homeowners — to turn browsers into buyers.
A new visual layout was designed and developed to make browsing home listings simple and to also provide real-time information on the status of homes. The custom written listings software, added as an extension to the underlying framework, enabled secure access to the internal contract system which in turn allowed the website to display a dynamic list of the homes available for sale at the Eagle Landing Community.
This same home listing software was deployed at all active East West Communities websites where homes were available for sale.
The new home listings page layout was designed not only to easily convey high level information about the homes for sale to the prospective buyers, but also to be re-usable across the many different East West Communities websites.
